When the shape of the tiles is perfected, the still-moist clay is moved into a kiln and fired to a temperature of about 1,000 degrees Celsius. Depending on design specifications, this process can take days or even weeks to prepare the clay.
Once dry, roof tiles undergo numerous quality assurance tests before distribution. They are subjected to simulations of real-world events and emergencies such as fire strikes, storms and heavy rain. Successful batches go to public distribution, and failed batches are recycled and reused, so nothing is wasted.

The green concrete is then ready to be moulded into roof tiles. This is achieved by injecting concrete into an extruder, which extrudes the product into a continuous sheet. The machine then carefully crafts and cuts the sheets into tiles with uniform precision, so that each product is perfectly uniform.
Once formed, concrete blocks are heated in large ovens; the time they spend in them can vary from a few hours to a full day, depending on their shape.
After drying, they undergo a number of quality assurance tests, including visual inspection and environmental hazard testing. If the batches are successful, they will proceed to public distribution.
